CM Projects Inc. didn't start with a fleet of machines or a roster of contracts. It started with a work ethic and a dream — and a willingness to do whatever job needed doing, no matter how unglamorous. In the early days, that meant picking garbage. Not because it was the goal, but because it was the work in front of us, and we've never been the kind of company to wait for the "right" job to show up. We took what came, did it right, and let that reputation open the next door.

 

That mindset — show up, do the work, earn the next opportunity — is still the foundation everything at CM Projects is built on.

 

A Decade of Growth

Over the past ten years, that starting point has grown into a heavy construction and civil earthworks company capable of taking on serious material management, land reclamation, grading, and equipment rental work across Alberta. The trucks, the excavators, the rollers — none of that came first. It came because of the work ethic that came first.

 

Growth, for us, has never been about chasing size for its own sake. It's been about saying yes to harder jobs, tougher sites, and bigger responsibilities — and building the skills, equipment, and people to back it up. Every piece of equipment in our fleet and every program we've launched exists because we outgrew what came before it.

 

Tenacity, Drive, and Adaptability

Construction doesn't reward companies that only work when conditions are easy. Weather changes. Sites are unpredictable. Deadlines move. What's carried CM Projects through the last decade isn't luck — it's a team that doesn't quit when a job gets hard, and doesn't need everything to be perfect to get it done.

 

That same adaptability is why we didn't stop at earthworks. Recognizing that skilled operators are as critical to this industry as the machines they run, we built CM Pathways, our workforce training division, to train all generation of heavy equipment operators — rock truck, dozer, and site monitor courses among them. It's the same instinct that started this company: see what's needed, and go build it.

 

Where We're Headed

CM Projects is still driven by the same thing it was ten years ago — people willing to outwork the problem in front of them. The equipment has gotten bigger, the projects more complex, and the team more skilled, but the core of the company hasn't changed. We built this from the ground up, and we intend to keep building.
